Sound familiar, renovator?

Your renovators quoting is costing more than time.

Scope creep.

Hours wasted retyping quotes.

Nothing slips through

What BuildScope checks on every renovator job.

Industry-specific inclusions, prompted before you send the scope, not discovered after you win it.

Strip
  • Demolition
  • Make safe
  • Waste removal
Rebuild
  • Carpentry
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • Finishes

The scope itself

What goes into a renovator scope of works.

Renovation scopes creep because nobody wrote down where the job stops and what happens when the wall comes off.

Line items that belong on it

  • Demolition and strip out of nominated areas
  • Make safe and disconnect services as required
  • Waste removal and progressive site clean
  • Structural, carpentry, plumbing and electrical works to nominated scope
  • Finishes, fix out and final clean on completion

What gets left off

  • The extent of the demolition. Vague strip-out wording is where scope creep begins.
  • What is found behind the wall. Old wiring, rot and non-compliant work all need an allowance.
  • Protection to the parts you are not touching. Dust travels and making good the rest of the house is not free.

Worth excluding in writing

  • Works to areas outside the nominated scope
  • Rectification of pre-existing non-compliant work
  • Asbestos or hazardous material removal

Where BuildScope fits

You run the job. BuildScope does the paperwork in the middle.

Renovators know how to walk a job and price it. BuildScope takes the paperwork between the site meeting and the quote going out.

BuildScope does this You do this
  1. 01 Enquiry lands Client rings or emails. You book a time to look at the job.
  2. 02 Site meeting You walk the job, measure up and take your photos.
  3. 03 Brain dump Talk or type the job into BuildScope, on site or in the ute.
  4. 04 The questions BuildScope asks what a tired estimator forgets: access, protection, rubbish, patching.
  5. 05 Scope of Works A full scope, trade by trade, preliminaries first, PC and PS kept separate.
  6. 06 Price and export Check quantities and pricing, apply your margin and GST, export the client-ready PDF.
  7. 07 Send and sign You send the PDF. The acceptance page is already in there for the client to sign.
  8. 08 Job runs Book the trades and get moving. The scope is your checklist and your variation defence.

BuildScope covers steps 03 to 06. You do the trade work, it does the paperwork.

Renovators already running accounting software? No worries.

Build the scope in BuildScope the way you always do, then move the job into your accounting or job management software as a draft, with the PDF attached. Nothing reaches your client until you send it.

How it works

Three steps from site visit to client-ready scope.

01

Describe the job

Walk the whole job and be specific about where the scope stops, room by room and surface by surface.

02

Answer the questions that matter

BuildScope asks the renovation questions: which areas are in scope, what is being demolished, what services are affected, and what is still undecided.

03

Review and send

Check the strip-out wording, put allowances against everything you cannot see yet, and export a scope the client cannot misread.

FAQ

Questions renovators ask before signing up.

Is BuildScope built for renovators?
Yes. BuildScope is built around real renovator scopes of works, with renovators-specific line items, inclusions and wording. It is not a generic template you have to bend to fit.
Can BuildScope help renovators avoid missed items?
That is the point. It prompts for the things renovators commonly leave off a quote, like demolition and make safe, so fewer items slip through before you send the scope.
What should a renovation scope of works include?
Strip out and rebuild as separate sections, with the areas named specifically. Demolition, make safe and waste removal first, then the trades in build order, then finishes and clean. The most valuable lines on a renovation scope are the boundaries: which rooms are in, which surfaces are being made good, and what has a provisional allowance because it is behind a wall.
How do renovators stop scope creep?
Write the limits, not just the works. Name the areas in scope, state what is excluded, and put a provisional sum against the conditions you cannot see yet. Scope creep almost never starts with a big request, it starts with while you are here, and the only thing that stops it becoming free work is a scope specific enough to point at.
Can I edit the scope after the AI builds it?
Always. Every line item, quantity, rate and section is editable. Reorder, add, remove or reword anything before you export.
Does BuildScope work from voice notes and photos?
Yes. Talk through the renovator job, or drop in site notes and a PDF, and BuildScope turns it into a structured Scope of Works you review and tidy.
How does the free trial work?
7 days free with 10 scopes on us, no credit card. Build and export them however you like. After that it is $99 per user a month, everything included.
Does BuildScope work with the software I already use?
Yes. Connect it once from your account settings and any saved scope can be pushed across as a draft, carrying your line items, section headings and exclusions, with the BuildScope PDF attached. BuildScope never sends it to your client and never raises an invoice: that stays your call.
