What should a landscaping scope of works include?

Access and spoil removal belong in preliminaries because both are real costs on almost every job.
Why do landscaping quotes blow out on quantities?
Because areas get eyeballed rather than measured, and because spoil is forgotten. Every cubic metre you dig out has to be carted away and tipped, and on a sloping site the excavation and the levels are usually more work than the finished surface suggests. Measuring the areas and pricing the spoil separately is what keeps the number honest.
