Sound familiar, electrician?

Your electricians quoting is costing more than time.

Missing compliance items.

Easy to miss. Expensive to fix.

Forgotten testing & certification.

Easy to miss. Expensive to fix.

Vague client expectations.

Easy to miss. Expensive to fix.

Underquoted GPO counts.

Easy to miss. Expensive to fix.

Nothing slips through

What BuildScope checks on every electrician job.

Industry-specific inclusions, prompted before you send the scope, not discovered after you win it.

  • GPOs

  • Certification
  • Handover

The scope itself

What goes into a electrician scope of works.

Electrical scopes get underquoted on counts and undercooked on compliance, and both only show up once you are on the tools.

Line items that belong on it

  • Switchboard supply, upgrade or modification as required
  • Rough-in of power and lighting circuits
  • Supply and install GPOs, switches and light fittings
  • Testing, compliance and certification on completion
  • Handover including certificates and client walkthrough

What gets left off

  • Accurate GPO and point counts. A guessed count is the single most common electrical underquote.
  • Testing, certification and paperwork. It is required, it takes time, and it rarely gets a line.
  • Chasing, patching and making good. Getting cable into an existing wall is destructive and someone has to fix it.

Worth excluding in writing

  • Patching and painting of chased walls
  • Supply of client-selected light fittings
  • Network provider or authority connection fees

Where BuildScope fits

You run the job. BuildScope does the paperwork in the middle.

Electricians know how to walk a job and price it. BuildScope takes the paperwork between the site meeting and the quote going out.

BuildScope does this You do this
  1. 01 Enquiry lands Client rings or emails. You book a time to look at the job.
  2. 02 Site meeting You walk the job, measure up and take your photos.
  3. 03 Brain dump Talk or type the job into BuildScope, on site or in the ute.
  4. 04 The questions BuildScope asks what a tired estimator forgets: access, protection, rubbish, patching.
  5. 05 Scope of Works A full scope, trade by trade, preliminaries first, PC and PS kept separate.
  6. 06 Price and export Check quantities and pricing, apply your margin and GST, export the client-ready PDF.
  7. 07 Send and sign You send the PDF. The acceptance page is already in there for the client to sign.
  8. 08 Job runs Book the trades and get moving. The scope is your checklist and your variation defence.

BuildScope covers steps 03 to 06. You do the trade work, it does the paperwork.

Electricians already running accounting software? No worries.

Build the scope in BuildScope the way you always do, then move the job into your accounting or job management software as a draft, with the PDF attached. Nothing reaches your client until you send it.

How it works

Three steps from site visit to client-ready scope.

01

Describe the job

Walk the job and count the points properly: GPOs, switches, lights, and anything the switchboard cannot currently carry.

02

Answer the questions that matter

BuildScope asks the electrical questions: point counts by room, circuit changes, switchboard condition, and what needs testing and certifying.

03

Review and send

Check the counts and your compliance lines, keep client-selected fittings as PC items, and send it the same day.

FAQ

Questions electricians ask before signing up.

Is BuildScope built for electricians?
Yes. BuildScope is built around real electrician scopes of works, with electricians-specific line items, inclusions and wording. It is not a generic template you have to bend to fit.
Can BuildScope help electricians avoid missed items?
That is the point. It prompts for the things electricians commonly leave off a quote, like switchboards and gpos, so fewer items slip through before you send the scope.
What should an electrical scope of works include?
Rough-in and fit-off as separate sections, with real counts rather than estimates: GPOs, switches, light points and circuits room by room, plus any switchboard upgrade. Testing, compliance and certification belong on their own lines because they are required work that takes real time, and client-selected fittings belong as PC items so supply and install never get confused.
How do electricians avoid underquoting GPO counts?
Count on site, room by room, and put the count in the line item rather than a lump sum for power. A scope that says twelve GPOs and four light points in the kitchen can be checked by both sides, and if the client adds points later the variation is obvious. A scope that says power and lighting to kitchen cannot be defended when the count doubles.
Can I edit the scope after the AI builds it?
Always. Every line item, quantity, rate and section is editable. Reorder, add, remove or reword anything before you export.
Does BuildScope work from voice notes and photos?
Yes. Talk through the electrician job, or drop in site notes and a PDF, and BuildScope turns it into a structured Scope of Works you review and tidy.
How does the free trial work?
7 days free with 10 scopes on us, no credit card. Build and export them however you like. After that it is $99 per user a month, everything included.
Does BuildScope work with the software I already use?
Yes. Connect it once from your account settings and any saved scope can be pushed across as a draft, carrying your line items, section headings and exclusions, with the BuildScope PDF attached. BuildScope never sends it to your client and never raises an invoice: that stays your call.
